Brian Eno Calls On Public Help to Send Together for Palestine Track to UK Festive Top Spot.

A charity drive is aiming to send a Palestinian lullaby to the top of the UK charts. The effort aims to send support to Gaza's residents while also spotlighting Palestinian artistic heritage.

A Chance for Support and an "Unlikely Coup"

Musician and artist Brian Eno, who features on the track, stated that the single 'Lullaby' represents a opportunity to show solidarity with Palestinians over the Christmas period. He noted the potential for an unlikely festive coup.

“It would be incredible if that happened, yes,” he said. “I won't be completely disheartened if it doesn't manage to, festive releases are a category of their own.”

Resilient Spirit of Self-Determination

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who sings on the reimagining of a folk song called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the piece's defiant core message.

“It occupies a very special place for a lot of people,” Barghouti said. “The essence is that I would rather die in dignity than exist without freedom. That is the core idea of the song; we seek to lead a dignified life that we merit as a people.”

Production History and Featured Artists

The single was laid down following a large-scale benefit event held in the autumn. First conceived to be done as a live recording, the rendition was shelved during the concert due to scheduling overruns.

The impressive roster of performers appearing on Lullaby includes a range of well-known figures from the industry. All participated in the September show, which managed to collect a substantial amount for charitable causes.

Production and Release

Lullaby was crafted by a team of music creators. The track features a combination of the original Arabic with contemporary English verses.

The group managing the project have clarified that their objective is to generate maximum funds for a dedicated fund. These proceeds will be distributed to initiatives supporting Palestinians through an partnering humanitarian organization.

“We haven't set a specific target,” a figure commented. “We aim for whatever we can get. Naturally, the higher the total, the greater the impact. All proceeds are directed out to those in need in Gaza.”

The context in the region was noted for its extreme devastation, with a overwhelming percentage of property described as in ruins or severely impacted.

“Against that backdrop, a few million won't make a massive dent. But I think the significant factor is first of all raising awareness for this issue and demonstrating there’s another side to the story.”

The track is scheduled for release this Friday. Additionally, a complete film of the benefit event will be made available for streaming on a digital service from mid-December.
