Slot Asserts He Feels Secure and Has The Club's Support Following PSV Eindhoven Humiliation

Arne Slot acknowledged that it's natural for concerns to be raised about his future following another heavy loss against the Dutch champions.

The Reds endured their 9th loss in twelve games, representing the team's worst streak since being relegated in 1953-54.

They were taken apart by the Eredivisie title holders on a difficult evening at their home ground.

“I am feeling safe, things are alright, I have got plenty of support from the top,” Slot commented.

“It's important to change things and secure a win naturally but when you're coaching a team and not doing well then it is normal that doubts arise.”

He noted, “I am OK with my role. It is not the initial instance I've found myself in a difficult position but it's necessary that we changed our fortunes.”

Talks with The Board

When asked to elaborate on his conversations with the club's leadership, the head coach explained:

“There's regular dialogue. They assist to the team and to me and we discuss these matters but they don't phone me constantly each day to say they trust me.”

He mentioned, “During our regular discussions I sense the confidence. But I've not talked to them after this match yet so we'll see.”

Recurring Failings and Squad Response

The manager expressed regret over familiar weaknesses from his squad in their Champions League loss, specifically poor finishing and conceding too easily.

Meanwhile, player Jones was more forthright in his assessment of the current crisis.

“I don’t have the answers. Honestly, I do not. I’m saying that to everyone,” Jones said.

“It’s just not good enough. I don't need to wait to consider it. I'm beyond being angry inside. I’m at the point now where I simply lack the phrases.”

He continued, “It's difficult because I play for the side I follow. I support them, and I've watched Liverpool for years.”

“For many years, I've not seen a Liverpool team going through a spell such as this with performances so bad.”

He concluded, “However we still have the emblem on our chest. And until it is removed, we'll continue to fight.”

“We will attempt to bring this squad back to the top, prove once more what this club is about and why people call it the greatest side in the world.”

“However currently, things are bad and it needs to change.”
